EVE'S GAME

Back from its sold-out season at the 2021 Anywhere Festival, Eve's Game returns to Miegunyah House this October for tea, feminism and sleuthing.

Enter historic Miegunyah House and step into the world of Eve Harrison, Brisbane's it-girl of 1884. Eve has returned from her debut in London and is inviting you to play Paschal, the lady-detective game that is sweeping London.

"There are a few occasions when I come out of a show and can’t wait to see it again. Immediately... A must-see show that is both fun and thought-provoking." Catherine Lawrence, Creative Futures

A combination of immersive theatre and sleuthing, Eve's Game presents a feminist perspective on the life of a young woman in the late Victorian era. Based on the life of a real Brisbane socialite, Eve's Game explores rites of passage in an era of social change and emerging feminism. Join Eve for tea on the verandah and become her apprentice detective in the game of Paschal. Help her to investigate the disappearance of a young woman while exploring Miegunyah, discovering clues and solving puzzles.

"Such a pleasant and intimate theatre experience...This unique and intimate show is a cross between Downton Abbey and Enola Holmes." Josie Montano, Theatre Travels.

"Enthralling, entertaining, enjoyable. A fantastic immersive theatre experience, where the venue is a vital component of the performance." Catherine Lawrence, Creative Futures

SKYWARD

"Skyward artfully combines imagery, music, and motion to create a performance that is both contemplative and uplifting.”
-Elise Lawrence, Reviewer

Skyward is a heavenly fusion of music from the worlds of art song and minimalism, stunningly choreographed with aerial circus. Soaring live music performed by an ensemble of soprano, cello and piano combine with an array of aerial apparatus in an uplifting and contemplative evening of song and circus.

Works by Copland, Barber, Michael Nyman, Andre Previn and Arvo Pärt create the perfect soundtrack for an evening that is part concert, circus and meditation. Hit PAUSE and float with Skyward.

Premiering to acclaim at the 2019 Anywhere Festival, presented by Republic of Song, with the support of Vulcana Womens' Circus. Featuring Georgia Bale, aerialist, and Jo Willans, soprano.

THE BALLAD OF ROSIE QUINN

“5 Stars” – Fiona Davey, Reviewer

“A deeply moving production, with such clever attention to detail in designing a non-visual show, The Ballad of Rosie Quinn is a chilling reflection on our history and the way that we remember it.” – Elise Lawrence, Reviewer

Pull on your blindfold, and come on a journey to the hellish Moreton Bay Penal Colony, where young convict Rosie Quinn struggles to make a life for herself. A place renowned for its convict brutality, Moreton Bay was home to a small population of women convicts, whose lives were harsh and difficult, and completely dominated by men. This completely blindfolded theatrical event takes the audience on a sensory experience of convict life, using scent, touch and old-fashioned storytelling.

Originally presented at Anywhere Festival 2018 and at Valley Fiesta 2018. Winner of 2018 Anywhere Reviewers' Award.
